This English and Welsh language Heritage Trails app celebrates the rich history of Rhondda Cynon Taf in the heart of the South Wales valleys, and takes you to many of its landmarks. There are 30 blue plaque sites to visit, each with its own wonderful story. There are also five heritage audio trails to explore, and each one reveals the important role the Industrial Revolution played in building these communities.

Local experts and a ghostly guide will direct you around the trails and share their knowledge of the area’s rich history:

Pontypridd - Discover how this river crossing became a town born out of the industrial revolution.

Aberdare - Take a tour around the ‘Queen of the Valleys’ and learn about its Victorian past.

Llantrisant - This fascinating medieval town high on a hill has many historic secrets to reveal.

Cwm Hafod - Starting at Rhondda Heritage Park, this countryside walk rises above the famous Rhondda Valley and local historians and an ex-miner tall us about its history.

Hirwaun - The ghost of William Bryant – once a worker at the Hirwaun Ironworks, shares his memories of his life and the history of this former iron town dating from the 18th century.

This project was funded by the Valleys Heart and Soul campaign utilising European Regional Development Funds.

Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
